Trango Powered Backhaul Selected for Pittsburgh's Downtown Wi-Fi Network

U.S. Wireless Online chooses Trango gear to power 802.11 mesh network for Wi-Fi access

September 13, 2006 —Trango Broadband Wireless, industry leader in high-performance fixed wireless products and backhaul solutions, announced today that U.S. Wireless Online, one of the nation's largest wireless Internet broadband network providers, selected Trango to power the backhaul for Pittsburgh's Downtown Wi-Fi Network.

The Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership (PDP) commissioned U.S. Wireless Online to deploy the Wi-Fi network in order to provide free outdoor wireless access in the Central Business District. In addition, the Wi-Fi network will provide nearby municipalities with secure service for critical communications for public safety entities.
